Option 1
Take PA 130 west towards Trafford. Turn right into B Y Park access road. Park in lot on left.
Option 2
Take US 22 and turn onto Mosside Blvd. (PA 48). After 0.8 miles, keep left to continue past Forbes Hospital onto Haymaker Rd. Follow this for 3 miles and turn left onto Forbes Rd. Turn right at stop sign onto PA 130 towards Trafford. In about 1/4 mile, turn right into B Y Park access road. Park in lot on left.
Follow US 22 until you reach the “T” intersection of US 22 and Northern Pike. Turn onto Northern Pike and then turn left after 500 feet onto Abers Creek Rd. Travel 1.5 miles and turn left onto Saunders Station Rd. After 600 feet, the Trail Access will be on your right.
Travel on US 22 towards Murrysville until you see the Airgas store (traveling west**) or the Fireplace and Patioplace (traveling east). The Robert’s Parcel Trailhead is located between these two businesses. Trail users can access both the Duff Park trails and Westmoreland Heritage Trail from this access area.
**If you are traveling west, you will need to pass the trailhead parking lot and continue down US 22 until you can cross to the opposite side of the road, as you cannot cross the median to access the parking lot. A suggested turnaround is to turn right at the intersection just before the trailhead onto the Branthoover Cutoff. Turn left onto Old William Penn Hwy, travel 0.4 miles and turn left onto Gates Ave. Turn left at the light to turn back onto US 22 and continue down until Roberts Parcel is on your right.
Travel on US 22 until the intersection with School Rd (Sheetz will be on the corner). Turn left (if traveling west) / right (if traveling east) onto School Rd. Travel 0.2 miles and turn right into the Duff Park parking lot. Trail users can access both the Duff Park trails and Westmoreland Heritage Trail from this access area.
Option 1
If traveling on US 22, turn onto the Cozy Inn Cutoff. Keep straight/right at the “Y” intersection stop sign. Travel for 0.2 miles and turn right into the gravel parking lot across the road from the hardware store.
Option 2
If traveling through Export, follow Kennedy Ave. west until you reach the 4-way intersection at Helltown Brewery. Continue straight through the intersection (now Old William Penn Hwy) and travel 0.6 miles. Turn left into the gravel parking lot across the road from the hardware store.
From the intersection of US 22 and Highway 66, travel north for 1.1 miles to the intersection of Highway 66 and West Pittsburgh St (Agway on the corner). Turn left onto West Pittsburgh St, which turns into Old William Penn Hwy. Travel for 2.9 miles into Export (road will turn into Kennedy Ave). The trail access will be on the left.
Please part at the far end of the lot to allow parking for businesses.
First travel on US 22 to its intersection with Highway 66. Take SR 66 North about 1.2 miles. Turn right at traffic light onto Greensburg St. Travel 0.2 miles and proceed through the 4-way onto Freeport Street, Stay on Freeport St. to right turn onto Athena Drive. Follow Athena about 0.8 miles and bear right after the concrete abutments. After 80 yards, make a sharp right into the John Rangos Trail Access.
Travel on US 22 to its intersection with SR 819, approx. 2.5 miles east of Highway 66. Turn north onto SR 819. After about 4.5 miles on SR 819, turn right onto County Road (Main Street) in Slickville. Turn right after 300 yards into the Fire Department parking lot. Please park your vehicle on the left side of the parking lot away from the firehouse doors.
Travel on US 22 to its intersection with SR 819, approx. 2.5 miles east of Highway 66. Turn north onto SR 819. After about 4.5 miles on SR 819, turn right onto County Road (Main Street) in Slickville. Travel about 2.5 miles and turn right onto Bortz Rd. and then right again into the Sara Steele trail access parking lot.
Travel on US 22 to its intersection with SR 819 in New Alexandria. Go north on SR 981 about 8 miles to SR 286. Turn right onto SR 286 and cross the bridge over the Kiskiminetas River. After 0.2 miles, turn right at the “T” onto Salt Street. Follow Salt St. then Canal St. for 0.4 miles, and then turn right to the trail juncture with the West Penn Trail, parking near the playground.
